Bill Pierce has been working as a professional sculptor since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2007. Often involving community engagement he has mostly been making large scale outdoor wood carvings, sculpted seating, benches and furniture, outdoor timber instruments, wooden play areas and kinetic sculpture. He also greatly enjoys metalwork and using recycled materials, leading a variety of creative and practical workshops and also collaborating with other artists and groups.
In the past organisations and groups Bill has worked with include young offenders, a variety of schools and colleges, youth groups, adults with learning difficulties, Age UK, various festivals, Cambian Dilston College, Gateshead and North Shields Council, Shiremoor Adventure Playground, Saltwell Park Sculpture Day and the Forestry Commission Scotland.
